Engine room
The engine room is located beneath the salon and is accessed by way of a hatch in the forward
access in the front center of the Salon near the galley. It has 12 volt and 110 volt lighting throughout.
Seen is the engine room is the following:

Pump Room

STRONG PERSUADER
General
“STRONG PERSUADER” is a cold-molded fiberglass constructed 43' LOA, 13'2" Beam, 3'8" Draft - Sport Fisher, designed by Roy Merritt built by Merritt Boat & Engine Works in Pompano Beach, Florida, in the year 1978. She was originally named the Fighting Lady and then later the Five Star. She is Merritt hull #27 and is currently found in Kona Hawaii. She is painted “fighting lady yellow” with black paint below water line hull. The gold leaf name on the varnished teak transom reads, “STRONG PERSUADER” “KAILUA KONA” The house, and Fly Bridge, are yellow with white, and cockpit decks are teak. She is equipped with an aluminum tuna tower. There is a single helm station on the fly bridge, one in the cockpit and one in the tuna tower. “STRONG PERSUADER” is powered by new 2009 twin 450 Hp. CTA Cummins Marine diesels. She has a estimated cruising speed of 27 knots at 2300 R.P.M. Maximum is 2600 RPM.
Running Gear
The running gear consists of 2” stainless steel shafts carried in bronze double legged main struts. These shafts swing 4 bladed Michigan propellers.
Tankage
“STRONG PERSUADER” carries 480 gallons of diesel in two aluminum tanks located on either side below the cockpit decks. She carries 80 gallons of fresh water in one aluminum tank. There is a small waste tank located port midship.
Vessel Layout
“STRONG PERSUADER” is a fly bridge model sport fisher with a teak & mahogany salon including a port side galley with refrigeration, sink and stove all located over the engine room, with sleeping accommodations and head, below forward with Kenwood stereo system and microwave. She has a fully furnished salon with bench seats on starboard, with 2.5’x3’ table and two bench seats facing forward and aft on the port side. Philips HD Satellite TV starboard forward salon and a thermostat controlled Air Conditioning system. Aft Salon has tackle drawers and storage compartments port and starboard.
Cockpit
The teak cockpit decks are reconditioned and in original condition. Chromed bronze stern cleats are located in the aft corners of the bulwarks and are tended by chromed bronze hawse pipes in the upper aft corners of the side hulls. Two flush mounted rod holders are placed on each side the cockpit covering boards. A transom fish door is located starboard side. Located in the port aft cockpit corner is the hose bibs for the fresh and saltwater wash downs. Gaff and deck brush storage is located port and starboard sides bulwarks.
Seen in the aft starboard corner of the bulwarks is the 50 amp 125/250 volt shore power plug in.
Along the forward end of the cockpit is an insulated drink box on the port side, a control station to starboard
and a teak covered step in the center, which leads to the salon door. A center pedestal mounted Murray Brothers fighting chair with rocket launcher, with four flush mount rod holders and a bait preparation tray is located into the center of the cockpit. Just aft of the fighting chair is a deck hatch which gives access to the lazarette compartment which contains Fenders and a fish bag.
Fly Bridge
Access to the fly bridge is by way of aluminum ladders on each side of the tuna tower. The fly bridge is protected overhead by a soft top. The main helm station is located in the center of the bridge with bench seating on either side of the helm. Seen at this helm station is the following:

Tuna Tower
A second helm station is located at the top of the tuna tower and is accessed by way of
aluminum ladders incorporated with the aft tower legs. This standing helm station is protected
overhead by a soft herculite top framed with aluminum tubing. Seen at this helm station
is the following:
